On the first screen click the PLAY button or press the Space Bar to continue. Clicking the High Score button or typing H on your keyboard will take you to the High Score Table (See the Top Menu below for more options).

The next screen is the Choose A Car screen. Use the Left and Right arrow buttons or the Left and Right arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the cars available. The game comes with 4 cars but I have made the game so that other ones may be added in the future by downloading an add cars patch, but only if there is sufficient interest. When the car you want is displayed click the PLAY button or press the Space Bar to continue. Clicking the High Score button or typing H on your keyboard will take you to the High Score Table (See the Top Menu below for more options).

On the next main screen your chosen car will appear above the starting lights. These lights will change from red to yellow then green. When the lights are green you will be able to move your car. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard press the Up arrow to move forwards. Keeping the Up arrow key pressed, press the Left arrow key to move left and the Right arrow key to move right. Pressing the Down arrow key will allow you to move slowly backwards. The faster you go, the larger your skid will be when pressing the Left or Right keys at the same time as pressing the Up arrow key. The idea is to bump (dumpout!) the other car out of the arena. Whoever leaves the arena first is the loser. You score 100 points for each bump and an extra 1000 points if you win the round. There is no limit to the number of rounds you can go but it does get harder to remove your opponent in each successive round. Your score is shown in the top left of the screen and the round number on the right. Get a high score and click one of the High Score buttons or choose High Score Table from the top menu under Options, to register your score.

On every screen except the main arena, there is a Help button shown as a question mark (?) and a Close button shown as a cross (X). Clicking the Help button produces this help page and clicking the X closes the program. On any screen you can press Q on the keyboard to Quit.

Game: Selecting Game in the Top Menu will produce the following Menu items:

New - Will restart the program so you can choose to play a new game. Any current score will be lost and reset to zero,
Pause - Pauses the game, click OK to continue,
Player Controls - Choose this option to play the game using a joypad/joystick or to change the keys used to control your car. In the column under 1, click on the square next to Joystick 1 or Joystick 2. To change the keys used on the keyboard for control, click the cross in the Keyboard square and then the button next to the up, down, left and right movement options,
Quit - Exits the program.

Options: Selecting Options in the Top Menu will produce the following Menu items:

Play Sound Effects - By default this is ticked (checked). To stop hearing the sound effects in the game, untick (uncheck) this option,
Play Music - By default this is ticked (checked). To stop hearing music in the game, untick (uncheck) this option,
High Score Table - Takes you to the high score table screen,
Reset High Scores - Resets the high scores to zero and deletes all the names. A pop up message warns that you are about to delete the scores, giving you the option of deciding not to by clicking No,
Change Car - This will take you to the Choose A Car screen. If you choose this option on the Game Over screen, then please be aware that your score will be reduced to zero, so make sure you register any high score first,
Hide Menu - This will remove the grey menu bar,
Full Screen - This will expand the game to full screen. To change back click this option again in the top grey menu bar.

Help: Selecting Help in the Top Menu will produce the following Menu items:

Contents - Selecting this produces this help page,
About - Tells you the name of this game and who made it i.e. me,
Grey Olltwit Online - Clicking this will connect you to the Internet and take you to my website where you will find lots of other free software games and screen savers for download.

To Uninstall this game go to the Control Panel and double click on Add/Remove programs. Select Grey Olltwit's Demolition Dumpout in the drop down list of programs. Double click to remove it.
