HOW TO INSTALL & UNINSTALL

Save the downloaded zip file to your desktop on your computer.
Open the zip after it is saved and extract all the files contained within to
your desktop. Connect your Pocket PC device to its associated port or cradle
on your computer and allow it to sync. Open ActiveSync on your desktop computer.

The easiest method of installation is to copy the *.cab file for your CPU
type to any location in your PocketPC and tap on it to trigger installation and
self-erasure of the *.cab file. This will install the application in main memory.

xxxxx.Arm 1100 (4K) v3.00.CAB
is for Pocket PCs with StrongARM/PXA/XScale processor, Samsung S3C2410 (iPAQ h194x)
xxxxx.Mips 4000 (4K) v3.00.CAB
is for Pocket PCs with MIPS processor, like older Casio's E-115/E-125
xxxxx.SH 3 (1K) v3.00.CAB
is for Pocket PCs with SH3 processor, like older HP Jornada's 540 series
Please refer to the specifications of your Pocket PC to check the processor type.

The "official" installation procedure is to open setup.exe and follow the steps as explained
in setup. This gives you the option to install on storage cards, but please install
in main memory since you may need a free CF card slot for a serial RS232C card. Setup
will also select the right data for your processor, if it is supported.

While installing the program on the Pocket PC, you may be asked whether you want to
replace an existing hidden, read-only, or system file.

If your PPC O/S is Pocket PC 2003 then [NO] is the correct answer, provided you have
installed the Visual Basic runtimes for PPC 2003 which are available for download at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/developer/evb.mspx

For Win CE 3.0 and Pocket PC 2002 please first with [NO to all] and if that does not
work, reinstall and select [YES to All].

You can uninstall using Setting/System/Removal as usual.
After uninstallation, other embeddedVB applications will no longer run because
OCXs/DLLs shared with other VB apps will be unregistered without warning, while they
remain in the Windows directory. There are three principle ways of fixing this:
1. A reinstallation of the application(s) concerned (awkward).
2. A visit to http://www.cegadgets.com/regsvr2.htm where you will find a free GUI
based tool to register OCXs and DLLs (takes some time to register the runtime
   files one by one).
3. Re-install the Pocket PC 2002 or Pocket PC 2003 VB runtimes (probably the fastest
   workaround).
If you have a storage card it is recommendable to always carry the above mentioned
Pocket PC 2002/2003 runtime installer CAB file with you. You never can tell.

Please enjoy the program.
Kind regards
Robert Brenner
