Okay, okay. There really isn't much to read here. But there are a few things that are worthy of putting into a readme file.
Q: Why doesn't 'scaling' do anything in the options?
A: Scaling says whether you want to scale the window so that it takes up as much of the screen as possible, but is only relavent in fullscreen mode. So it will not do anything in windowed mode.
Q: I found a bug in the game. What do I do?
A: Contact me. Email me at randomdragoon@gmail.com with the title "Bug Report" and I will try to fix it as soon as possible.
Q: Why do you use CTRL to fire instead of SPACE?
A: SPACE will often mess up many types of keyboards. Often you will find that a pair of directional arrows will not function while SPACE is pressed down; for me, I can't press Down and Left while pressing SPACE (The ship will refuse to move). CTRL doesn't mess up the arrow keys like that, and that's why it's superior.
Q: Who made the music for this game?
A: Glad you asked. The music credits:
- Luke Elliot (www.lelliott.co.uk) - wrote Level 1 and Regular Boss musics
- Josef Bel Habib (a.k.a. ctulu on GMC) - wrote level 3, level 4, and level 5 musics
- joeyjwc (http://joeyjwc.x3fusion.com) - wrote the final boss music
- and level 2 music was written by Yours Truely...
Q: Are there hidden messages in this readme?
A: I don't know, are there?
Q: How exactly does the skill bonus work?
A: You get 30% of the score attained during the level if you're playing on the 2nd difficulty, and 60% of the score attained during the level if you're playing on the hardest difficulty. No skill bonus if you're a Newbie. Bonuses are rounded to the nearest 5.
Q: Did you actually beat your own game on Ready To Die?
A: A couple times, when I got lucky.
Q: Can I put this game on my website?
A: The short answer is No. You're welcome to link to my website, however. But, if you email me for permission, then you may be able to put this game on your website. Oh yeah, that reminds me: copyright.
This readme file, the game, and whatever else might be related to it is copyright by RandomDragoon 2005, because I didn't rip any sprites or music this time. =)
