In the first game you defended your spaceship. Here you get into the next level because thing you take care about is a generator. The authors thought that the difficulty should be increased. You get a copy of you to help you so you control two guns but the enemies are much tougher and more difficult to kill and the control of your guy is nothing to be happy with. Nice change is in increased number of upgrades and their variations.
